Product Safety (GPSR)
Since 13 December 2024 we apply Regulation (EU) 2023/988 of the European Parliament and of the Council on general product safety (GPSR), which replaced Directive 2001/95/EC. This page explains how we implement GPSR requirements at tarabaseny.com.pl.
§1. General information
GPSR obliges online sellers to ensure that the products they offer are safe and that the offer contains information enabling identification of the product, the manufacturer and — where applicable — the responsible person in the European Union.
As a distributor (seller), we take care to ensure that:
- the products sold come from verified manufacturers and authorised distributors,
- products bear the required markings (including CE where required),
- safety information is available to the consumer before purchase.
§2. Information in the product offer
On each product page, in the "Product Safety (GPSR)" section, we provide:
- Manufacturer name — the name or registered trademark of the manufacturer,
- Product identifiers — EAN/GTIN code, manufacturer part number (MPN), product image,
- Manufacturer contact details — postal and/or electronic address, where made available by the manufacturer,
- Warnings and safety information — where the manufacturer has provided them for the product.
If manufacturer details are not visible in the offer, you may request them before purchase — we will provide them promptly based on the product documentation (label, manual, product card).
§3. Responsible person in the EU
Where the manufacturer is not established in the European Union, its products indicate a responsible person (an economic operator established in the EU — manufacturer, importer, authorised representative or fulfilment service provider) who is responsible for the product's compliance with GPSR.
If no responsible person is indicated in the offer, please contact us — we will help establish the details based on the product documentation.
§4. Warnings and safety instructions
- Safety warnings are placed on the packaging or in the instructions accompanying the product — please read them before first use.
- Where the manufacturer has supplied warnings in electronic form, we publish them in the "Product Safety (GPSR)" section on the product page.
- Certain products (e.g. electronics, pool chemicals, electrical equipment) require special precautions — always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
§5. Reporting safety issues
If you suspect that a purchased product is unsafe or non-compliant with GPSR:

We analyse every report without delay. If a risk is confirmed, we inform the manufacturer/importer and — where required — the competent market surveillance authorities (the President of UOKiK).
You may also report unsafe products via the EU Safety Gate portal and the Polish UOKiK reporting system.
§6. Product recall
In the event of a decision to withdraw or a recall of a product from the market:
- we will notify affected buyers by e-mail to the address provided in the order,
- we will specify how to return the product and the compensation rules (refund, repair or replacement),
- we will publish the recall information on the Store's website.
